VACANCY ADVERTISEMENT: SUPERVISOR – PLUMBING 

Lumwana Mining Company seeks to recruit a highly motivated and committed individual for the position of Supervisor – Plumbing to join the versatile Maintenance team. We are in search of individuals who can champion Barrick’s DNA by:

Reporting to the Coordinator Infrastructure, you will be responsible for plumbing maintenance of buildings, offices, camps, warehouses and associated civil structures. Supervising the plumbing team to ensure efficient execution of plumbing works, adherence to safety standards and compliance with statutory regulations.

 

Your duties will include but are not limited to the following:

  • Supervise plumbing maintenance and repairs in buildings and infrastructure.
  • Prioritization of daily plumbing tasks, ensuring that the work meets expected quality of workmanship.
  • Ensure compliance with plumbing codes, safety standards, and environmental regulations.
  • Ensure proper use of tools and equipment including PPE.
  • Manage plumbing contractors and resources for efficient completion of works.
  • Coordinate with Coordinator Infrastructure on work packs, shutdowns, and maintenance plans.
  • Coordinate with other departments during shutdowns of sewer & water lines or pump replacements and repairs.
  • Ensure accurate recording of work orders in SAP
  • Provide accurate progress and other required reports to the Coordinator Infrastructure.
  • Promote safety and environmental awareness in the team.
  • Identify opportunities for improving plumbing maintenance processes.

 

To be considered for the position, you must meet the following requirements:

  • Grade 12 Certificate.
  • Minimum Advanced Certificate in Plumbing and Sheet Metal, Diploma in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
  • Minimum 3 years’ experience in a similar role. 
  • Experience in the use of a recognized Computer Maintenance Management System CMMS, preferably SAP.
  • Holder of a valid Zambian driver’s license.
