Peace Parks Foundation

About Us
The Peace Parks Foundation is an organization dedicated to large-scale ecological restoration throughout southern Africa. It operates through co-management partnerships involving governments, communities, and donors. The foundation restores vast transboundary landscapes, delivering measurable outcomes in both conservation and livelihoods. A key initiative is Vision 2050, which aims to secure 18 functional landscapes spanning 980,000 km, establishing one of the world's largest land-conservation initiatives. The organization works with communities, such as those involved in the Simalaha Community Conservancy, promoting development through a wildlife economy and sound management of natural resources. Peace Parks Foundation is located in Zambia. Founded by President Nelson Mandela, HRH Prince Bernhard of the Netherlands, and Dr. Anton Rupert, its work spans conservation, community forest management, and agricultural support across various regions like Sesheke, Western Province, and Mwandi.
