Frankfurt Zoological Society

The Frankfurt Zoological Society (FZS) is an international conservation organization dedicated to protecting biodiversity and wilderness areas across Africa, South America, Asia, and Europe. In Zambia, FZS operates through the North Luangwa Conservation Programme (NLCP). The organization has been active in the North Luangwa Ecosystem since 1986 and in Nsumbu National Park since 2017. Its work involves supporting effective protected area management, focusing on law enforcement, conservation education, and empowering communities to manage their resources. FZS's efforts include promoting environmental and social equity, ecological monitoring, endangered species recovery, and community engagement related to human-wildlife coexistence in key wilderness areas like the Nsumbu-Mweru ecosystem.
