Job Purpose
Remote work opportunities
The Senior Risk Officer will support the implementation and monitoring of an effective Enterprise Risk Management (ERM) Framework across IDC and its subsidiaries. The role is responsible for providing technical assistance in the identification and assessment of enterprise risks and enhancing risk oversight and compliance processes. This includes evaluating internal controls, risk mitigation strategies, and advising Management on risk-related matters to ensure informed decision-making and institutional resilience.
Key Responsibilities
a) Departmental Planning & Budget Control
- Assist in managing departmental expenditure within approved budgets to ensure cost efficiency.
b) Subsidiary Oversight and Risk Support
- Provide guidance and oversight to subsidiary companies on risk management matters.
- Promote standardization of risk practices across the group.
c) Policies and Risk Management Work Plans
- Support the implementation of the Enterprise Risk Management framework across IDC Group.
- Assist in the preparation and execution of the annual risk management workplan.
d) Risk Assessment and Advisory
- Assist departments in identifying, analyzing, and evaluating business risks.
- Identify and assess potential risks before and during project implementation.
- Provide technical risk reports highlighting high-priority risks and opportunities.
e) Monitoring, Evaluation & Reporting
- Support consolidation of the IDC Risk Register.
- Evaluate the internal control environment and prepare reports for management review.
f) Risk Mitigation and Efficiency
- Recommend mitigation strategies and ensure execution of risk treatment actions.
- Promote efficient and systematic risk processes.
g) Other Duties
- Perform any other duties as assigned by the Supervisor.
Qualifications and Experience
Minimum Academic & Professional Requirements:
- Grade 12 School Certificate.
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Risk Management, Business Administration, Economics, Computer Studies, or related field.
- Professional certification such as ACCA, CIMA, CA, or equivalent is required.
- Risk Management certification is an added advantage.
- Membership with a relevant body such as ZICA, ACCA, ISACA, or IRMZ is required.
- Investment Advisor License (SEC) is an added advantage.
Work Experience:
- Minimum of 5 years’ proven experience in risk management or related field.

- Sound report writing and presentation skills
- Attention to detail and analytical ability
- Proficiency in data management and risk systems
