About the ProjectThis research project is an evaluation of the Human Papillomavirus (HPV). The Human Papilomavirus (HPV) is the primary cause of cervical cancer, with over 80% of cases in low- and middle-income countries (LMICs). To prevent HPV, the World Health Organization (WHO) recommends HPV vaccination of adolescent girls ages 9 to 14. Zambia introduced HPV vaccination into its national immunization program in 2019 and currently delivers the vaccine to 9-year-old girls on a single-dose schedule.
