The Business Development Consultant – Mining will lead Thelsac’s efforts to identify, develop, and secure subcontracting and partnership opportunities within the mining sector. The consultant will focus on high-level engagement with our existing clients such as Lumwana mining company, First Quantum Minerals (FQM) and Mopani Mine as well as their main contractors.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

– Identify and pursue subcontracting and partnership opportunities with mining companies and contractors.

– Represent Thelsac at supplier forums, industry meetings, and corporate networking events.

– Facilitate company registration on mining supplier and subcontractor databases.

– Support the preparation of proposals, capability statements, and tender submissions.

– Build and maintain long-term relationships with key stakeholders.

– Monitor market trends, mining project developments, and provide actionable insights.

– Provide periodic reports on business development activities and progress.

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE

– Degree in Business Administration, Mining, Engineering, or related field.

– Minimum 8 years’ experience in business development, procurement, or corporate relations within the mining sector.

– Strong professional network within Zambia’s mining industry is highly desirable.

– Excellent negotiation, communication, and presentation skills.

– Understanding of subcontracting procedures, mining operations, and compliance requirements.

– Self-motivated, results-oriented, and strategic thinker.
