The Business Development Consultant â Mining will lead Thelsacâs efforts to identify, develop, and secure subcontracting and partnership opportunities within the mining sector. The consultant will focus on high-level engagement with our existing clients such as Lumwana mining company, First Quantum Minerals (FQM) and Mopani Mine as well as their main contractors.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
â Identify and pursue subcontracting and partnership opportunities with mining companies and contractors.
â Represent Thelsac at supplier forums, industry meetings, and corporate networking events.
â Facilitate company registration on mining supplier and subcontractor databases.
â Support the preparation of proposals, capability statements, and tender submissions.
â Build and maintain long-term relationships with key stakeholders.
â Monitor market trends, mining project developments, and provide actionable insights.
â Provide periodic reports on business development activities and progress.
QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE
â Degree in Business Administration, Mining, Engineering, or related field.
â Minimum 8 yearsâ experience in business development, procurement, or corporate relations within the mining sector.
â Strong professional network within Zambiaâs mining industry is highly desirable.
â Excellent negotiation, communication, and presentation skills.
â Understanding of subcontracting procedures, mining operations, and compliance requirements.
â Self-motivated, results-oriented, and strategic thinker.
