SENIOR TREASURY AND EQUITY OFFICER

Directorate: Finance Directorate

Department: Finance-Treasury, Equity and Wealth Fund

Reporting To: Head of Finance-Treasury, Equity and Wealth Fund

Location: Lusaka

Job Purpose

The Senior Treasury and Equity Officer will be responsible treasury and financial management, originating capital financial transactions, conducting financial and commercial analysis, preparing investment proposals, and structuring deals. The role also involves market research, valuations, financial modeling, and maintaining relationships with investors and stakeholders to support strategic financing and investment decisions.

Key Responsibilities

a) Departmental Planning & Budgeting

  • Participate in the development of departmental workplans and budgets.

b) Financial Analysis

  • Analyze financial data to support investment decisions.
  • Evaluate target company performance and recommend strategies.
  • Perform company valuations and maintain financial models.
  • Review work done by junior officers and ensure quality output.

c) Debt & Equity Capital Raise

  • Develop capital raising strategies and identify optimal structures.
  • Conduct market research and prepare investment proposals.
  • Coordinate due diligence processes and manage investor relationships.
  • Contribute to IPO documentation and manage trading activities.

d) Treasury & Financial Management

  • Monitor and forecast cash flow positions.
  • Ensure compliance with the Group Treasury Management Policy.
  • Prepare reports on liquidity, cash flow, FX trades, and risk exposures.
  • Support debt portfolio management and liquidity planning.

e) Operational Efficiency

  • Prepare departmental memos and correspondence.
  • Provide practical solutions to operational challenges.
  • Ensure timely delivery of high-quality outputs.

f) Risk Management

  • Identify and document departmental risks.
  • Propose mitigation measures and escalate to risk champion.

Qualifications and Experience

Minimum Academic & Professional Requirements:

  • Grade 12 School Certificate.
  • Bachelor’s degree in accountancy, Finance, Commerce, Business Administration, or equivalent.
  • Investment Adviser License (SEC).
  • Relevant professional membership (e.g., ZICA, ACCA, CFA).

Minimum Work Experience:

  • At least 5 years of relevant experience in treasury, finance, or capital markets.
