ELECTORAL COMMISSION OF ZAMBIA
JOB ADVERTISEMENT
The Electoral Commission of Zambia seeks to recruit qualified and experienced individuals to fill in positions ofTechnical Support Officerson short term contract to be stationed in constituencies across the country.
TECHNICAL SUPPORT OFFICERS (TSO)
PURPOSE OF THE JOB
To provide first level technical support to their respective districts/constituencies to ensure that the Commission effectively and efficiently meets its strategic and operational objectives.
REPORTING ACCOUNTABILITY
The Technical Support Officers will report to the District Electoral Officer (DEO) in the respective district.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Maintain all Voter Registration kit components
- Troubleshoot and resolve computer operating system and printer problems.
- Ensure regular data backups, recovery testing, and implementation of ICT security and data protection standards.
- Liaise with the central ICT department for system updates, installations, and technology rollouts.
- Ensure compliance with established ICT policies, procedures, and service-level standards.
- Provide on-site and remote support during major Commission operations such as elections, voter registration, and data collection activities.
- Capture and update electoral spatial data using tools such as Digitizing table and Global Positioning System (GPS) in accordance with the Commissions data quality standands.
- Identify recurring system issues and recommend improvements to enhance operational efficiency.
- Monitor, evaluate, and report on the performance of district technical support to inform management decisions.
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
- Minimum of a Diploma in Information Technology, Computer Science, or Electronic Engineering.
- Full Grade 12 Certificate or its equivalent.
- Two (02) years or more relevant work experience
- Must be a member of the Information & Communication Technology. Association of Zambia (ICTAZ) or Engineering Institution of Zambia (EIZ).
- Not in full time employment
