Why you would adapt your Curriculum vitae for specific vacancies?

Writing a general resume for different Job roles is not just a bad idea. It doesn't make sense. Even if the experience applies to each job role, the way you can represent it is much more different.

Writing a general resume for different Job roles is not just a bad idea. It doesn't make sense. Even if the experience applies to each job role, the way you can represent it is much more different. You can always change direction, apply for a higher position or simple stream work experience. In all possibilities, it is a must to focus your experience on a particular employer. The recruiter probably receives hundreds or resume and the way you stand out is by being unique. A well-crafted resume always stands out even if you're not qualified. With that being said, my main advice is to carefully study the vacancy then select only the experience and functionality for that specific role.

If you performed several roles at your previous job, then select those that meet the needs of the employer for your resume. For example, the candidate served as a client manager, office manager and administrator, and I am looking for a strictly specialist customer service. I will pay attention to the summary where the necessary functionality will be described accurately and clearly.

Highlight the main thing for different functionalities

Jobs for the same positions at different companies may differ in functionality, requirements or language. The same skill can be critical for one employer and not required for another. Keep this in mind when writing your resume.

Carefully read the vacancy and try to note the experience that best reflects the knowledge and skills needed by the employer. It’s good to reinforce the description of the functional with specific achievements in mind. for example, how many customers were able to attract and for how long, or how quickly it turned out to introduce a document management system in the company.

Meticulously approach the selection of facts from your work experience. Replace standard job descriptions with real tasks and demonstrative results. If you are applying for a massive position in a large company, you will have to compete with hundreds of other candidates. Remember that the main task of a resume is to draw attention to you as a specialist.

Remove the unnecessary

Exclude experience that does not meet the needs of the employer. If you combined several roles at your previous place of work - describe only the one that directly relates to the vacancy that interests you

Bet on Experience Features

Tell us about the tasks that correspond to the next step in your professional field. If you apply for a managerial position, choose such functions and indicators when maximum independence in decision-making was required of you.

Study the description of a vacancy interesting to you, compare with offers of other companies. So you can orient yourself, what is expected from a specialist at a higher level. Even if there is no suitable experience for that moment, it is important to show that you understand the requirements for that position and are ready to work to meet them.

Adapting a resume for a vacancy increases the chances of getting an offer. The employer sees your interest, he receives only useful information and makes a decision faster.
